FIONA & MYLES
PAPAKATA | WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY AT UPPER HELMSLEY
A truly beautiful day!!!
Weddings come in all kinds of different shapes and sizes, this one came in the shape of a beautiful Sperry, one of my favourites.
The morning began at Dannie Lea’s salon at the bottom of Micklegate in York. Fiona, her mum and bridesmaids all met nice and early for Dannie and his team to work their magic. It was a pretty chilled morning with coffees and croissants.
On the other side on town Myles was getting ready at his parents house. Bacon butties, a last minute speech written and shirts ironed and the boys were ready to go.
Fiona and Myles decided to say their vows in the beautiful St Mary’s Church in Sand Hutton. I great moment was had when these two saw each other for the first time.
After the vows it was time for the confetti and cuddles with daisy, their little Daschund, it’s a good job she didn’t stay all day otherwise I would have kidnapped her!!!
It was time for the reception which was held at a friends house in Upper Helmsley just on the outskirts of York. Papakata set up one of their Sperry’s in the garden which looked stunning. A lot of the decorations were made by family and friends which just added a lovely personal touch.
On to the speeches and the best man stole the show, a lot of laughs and cheers and it was time for the grub.
After the meal I pinched the newlyweds for a little walk around the gardens whilst the bar “The Gin Yard” topped everyones drinks up. It was a great opportunity to give them 5 minutes away from the crowds and have a bit of alone time whilst I hid in a bush and got a few pics of them in amongst the trees.
The day was going by so quickly and it was soon time for the cake cut and first dance. I love the atmosphere that a Sperry creates on an evening, it’s such a warm and romantic light – the perfect kind for a first dance!!!
An amazing day and the perfect end watching these two dance away hand in hand as MR & MRS Rawlings.
It was a pleasure 🙂
A special thanks to my second shooter Rhi Scotchbrook for doing an epic job!!!
