What a day!!!
I love being a Yorkshire wedding photographer, I get to go to so many beautiful locations and this one was up there with the best.
I got up nice and early and set off to Kilnsey Park in Skipton for this amazing wedding. A quick stop off on the way to grab myself my morning caffeine fix and I was raring to go.
The drive over was awesome, it looked like there was a storm coming and the clouds looked unreal – luckily the clouds stayed with us all day but the rain held off which resulted in some pretty dramatic pics 🙂
I arrived at The Tennant’s Arms to be greeted by Grace, her four bridesmaids and Becca their hair and makeup artist.
We had a good laugh whilst the girls were getting ready – they were all so giddy and maybe a little nervous.
Once Grace was in her dress it was time for me to head to the church which was a short drive away in a gorgeous little village called Kettlewell.
Ian was stood at the top of the aisle looking very smart in his military uniform, a quick chat with the vicar and I was ready to capture the moment they both saw each other for the first time, the look of excitement and love on their faces was priceless.
When I first met Grace and Ian it was made fairly obvious that Ian was a huge fan of Landrover Defenders, maybe even slightly obsessed with them, so when the vicar opened up the Landrover workshop manual and started to use references from the book to symbolise their relationship and future you can only imagine how happy this made him.
After the ceremony it was back to Kilnsey for the newlyweds marquee reception. I love outdoor weddings they’re right up my street and when I saw the marquee set up next to the Kilnsey Crag I was super excited to get the couple out for some portrait pics.
They did such a good job with decorating the marquee with little personal touches.
The storm clouds were still around and the light was fading a bit quicker than usual so shortly after the meal and speeches I grabbed them both and headed to the crag for a few pics. We decided to take the Defender for a few cheeky shots as well 🙂
When we got back to the reception the champagne was flowing and the party had properly started. Space hoppers with drunk people is hilarious to watch.
To top it off Grace and Ian treat everyone to ice-cream and the pizzas.
Grace and Ian, it was an awesome day!!! Thanks for having me along for the ride.
