Bethan and Matthew decided to get hitched at the Merchant Taylor’s just on the edge of York’s bar walls.
It was my first time being the Merchant Taylor wedding photographer and after a busy year of traveling the country it was nice to have a little quaint wedding in my home city of York.
Just a 10 minute drive from my house, I set off early and grabbed myself a coffee and I was set to go.
Bethan was getting ready just down the road from the venue so I headed over to capture her with her mum and bridesmaids.
It was like watching a bunch of girls getting ready for a night out, cheesy music, dodgy dancing and lots of laughs.
It was a fresh Novembers morning and the clouds looked a bit suspicious but Bethan embraced the weather and was raring to get to the Merchant Taylor’s to see her husband to be.
Once the girls were ready we had a short walk down the road, I grabbed a few pics before running ahead to get to the front so I could capture Matthews nervous but excited face.
One of my favourite moments of the day is when I get to see the reaction when they see each other for the first time, there is always so much love in the air – epic moments!!!
After the ceremony we headed outside for the confetti and a dash around the city before the rain made an appearance.
It was so much fun walking around the city with these two, they were so giddy and we got some beautiful pics of them hand in hand as newlyweds.
The rest of the day included lots of drinking, good food, good chat and plenty of drunken dance moves…just the way it should be.
Congrats Bethan and Matthew it was an absolute pleasure.
