I love it when I turn up to a venue and see bell tents, a big marquee, coloured ribbon hanging off the trees and beautiful, happy people everywhere….what’s not to love.
Charlotte and Jamie (Charlie + Jam) decided to say their I do’s at the Fishlake Mill in Doncaster. I’d never been to the venue before but it was gorgeous and the perfect fit for Charlie and Jam’s festival themed wedding day.
On arriving at the mill I was greeted by Charlie and her lovely bridesmaids, the bacon butties were on the go as the girls took it in turns to have their hair and makeup done.
I made my way up the mill staircase to a small yet beautiful room to find Charlies stunning dress hung against the wall. The light in the room was amazing so I took the opportunity to grab some snaps.
Back downstairs and the guests were starting to arrive so I popped outside to grab some pics of Jamie and the boys. He was pretty laid back and relaxed about it all (nerves of steel).
Once Charlie was in her dress it was time to walk down the aisle to the Pagoda to see her very soon to be husband. It was lovely to see everyones faces as she appeared from around the corner, a few tears from the guests and a huge grin from Jamie as she made her way in to his arms.
These two went all out for entertainment and first off it was a first for me which I was very excited to capture….an owl delivered the rings!!!!!
It was so funny watching the best man call the owl over, I think he was a little nervous but he did a fab job, the owl landed perfectly on his hand and the rings arrived in one piece…..thank god.
After the ceremony they had chance to mingle with friends and family before heading in for food and speeches.
During the meal they had Laura Kelly singing away in the background. This woman is a legend, she had us all in stitches with some very unexpected music and vocals.
The light was pretty bright during the afternoon so I waited until around 7pm before taking them out for their portrait shoot. There was a gorgeous country lane leading up to the venue and a cornfield just down the road so we took advantage of both.
After our walk it was time for the first dance and band who were bloody epic, if you’re looking for a band you need to check out Warning Tones.
After the first dance the party started, drinks were flowing, and everyone was dancing whilst the light slowly faded…A perfect end to a perfect day.
Charlie + Jam, Thank you so much for letting me be a part of your day.
